As Nigeria's Super Eagles continue to prepare
for the upcoming 2014 World Cup holding in
Brazil, former Nigerian footballer, Henry
Nwosu has revealed what he thinks is the
Nigerian team weakest link.
According to the ex-Green Eagles player, who
was part of the Nigerian team that won the
Nations Cup on home soil in 1980, the coach
Stephen Keshi led Eagles would need to tidy
up their defence if they are to surpass their
past achievement at the Mundial in Brazil.
Nwosu stated that Keshi should work more on
a solid partnership in the Nigerian back line
ahead of the football showpiece which kicks
off on 12 June to 13 July in Brazil.

"Having seen most of the players that made
the provisional squad in action and watched
all Super Eagles recent matches, I think our
major problem would be in the defence. Keshi
would need to work out cohesion among the
defenders if we are to progress beyond the
group stage in Brazil," Nwosu said.
He added that Keshi has a plan which
Nigerians must allow him to implement.
He stated: "it's a pity that despite the fact
that Ikechukwu Uche did well for Villareal in
Spain, he was not invited to the team and
other strikers like Brown Ideye.
"I'd advise them (players) to take heart but
that is not to say that the players we have in
camp are not going to give a good account of
themselves.Though there's this jittery feeling
when attackers take on our defenders so it
has to be really taken care of.

"Apart from that, I see a Super Eagles team
that is going to blossom in attack although I
cannot pre-empt Keshi's formation ahead of
the competition."
The Super Eagles came from behind twice to
force Scotland to a 2-2 draw in a friendly
match played at the Craven Cottage Stadium
in London, England Wednesday's night.
The team is expected to leave London on
Thursday to the US where they would play
other scheduled warm up matches before they
world cup begins in two weeks time.
Nigeria is in Group E along side Argentina,
Iran and Bosnia Herzegovina.
